MAJOR DONOR GENEROSITY AT IN-PERSON EVENTS REACHES AN ALL-TIME HIGH
Philanthropists give $151.8 million to nonprofits at Westfall Gold weekend experiences during the first half of 2021.
Through the first half of 2021, major donors gave $151.8 million to support nonprofit organizations at Westfall Gold weekend gatherings. This record-setting display of philanthropy is a testament to the desire of donors to give generously as part of a community.
Westfall Gold is a major donor fundraising consultancy that produces experiences designed to accelerate the bond between donors and nonprofits. So far this year, the company’s major donor weekend experiences averaged $6.1 million raised. The average gift per donor family was $188,000, an increase of 16% over the prior year.
“Over the past year, donors have been reflecting on how to live lives with greater meaning and impact,” Bob Westfall shared. “They are looking for a place to connect in community around a cause, and they are willing to give like they never have before.”
Westfall Gold maintains that the key to unlocking generosity is genuinely investing in the lives of donors. In fact, 99.8% of donors at the company’s gatherings affirmed they were inspired by the experience. One donor commented, “This weekend was just unbelievable. I’m not sure I have the right words. It was inspiring, relaxing, restorative, invigorating, unbelievable.”
When asked about the future, Westfall stated, “I expect giving to continue to grow at a significant pace. Donors are also eager to become advocates for nonprofit organizations. They want to engage their network to help expand the organization’s impact and help their friends find greater fulfillment.”
This season brings the total amount raised by nonprofits through the Westfall Gold model to $1.26 billion.
